Trailer Tower with Shelter – Cell on Wheels (COW)

Aluma aluminum trailer tower on top of a white shelter on wheels

Our trailer tower systems are used throughout the world as mobile command centers, cell-on-wheels (COWs), emergency communication centers, incident command posts, and many other applications across a multitude of industries. They are ideal for establishing communications when and where necessary and in a short timeframe. Our built-to-order portable trailer towers are manufactured to last, with unsurpassed workmanship and high-quality materials going into every product. Not only are our trailer tower systems built for durability and reliability, but they are also user-friendly and simple to deploy.  We proudly offer an extensive line of trailer towers with and without shelters to meet any requirements necessary.

The Cell on Wheels (COW) design is simple yet functional, making it easy to transport and deploy. While traveling, the tower is stowed atop the shelter in a horizontal position. In deployment, the tower pivots to a vertical position via a brake winch and cable assembly at the rear of the trailer (electric winches are available). Once the tower is locked into the vertical position and the other setup procedures are complete, the tower can be extended to its full height.

Self-Supporting Tower System

We use hot-dip galvanized tubular steel construction on all of our heavy-duty trailer frames. To make towing even easier, we’ve added adjustable tongue channels to our A-frame and T-bar tongue design.  This cell-on-wheels unit features galvanized torsion axles, all LED lighting, 4-wheel electric brakes, breakaway kits, and 7 pin RV-type connectors. They are outfitted with 5,000 lb (2,267 kg) zinc tongue jacks, slide out front and rear outriggers, and 8,000 lb (3628 kg) zinc leveling jacks. The chassis provides a strong base on which to mount your custom shelter and self-supporting tower or portable aluminum tower.

Trailer Tower with Shelter: How They Are Made

Our shelters are fabricated using 6061-T6 aluminum box tube wall studs, sheet skins, and custom aluminum corner post extrusions. The finished shell is double insulated (18R rating) with both foam insulation boards and foil-backed double bubble wrap. We finish the interior walls with bright white Fiberglass Reinforced Plastic (FRP) panels and anodized aluminum trim. A military-grade 3-point roller locking latch comes standard on all shelter doors, as well as several 120VAC receptacles, a shore power inlet, Square D electric breaker box system, and fluorescent lighting. The shelter exterior is painted white with a high-quality, automotive-grade, two-part paint system; other colors and types are available upon request, including CARC paint.
